About the project:

Sloane demolition was contracted for phase two of the works to deconstruct a 9storey concrete framed building to ground level.

Scaffold protection was required to all elevations to carry out top down demolition with two mini excavators. Each floor was back propped to engineers design to support demolition plant and machinery. Demolition was carried out successfully when reduced in height while abutting the new build concrete frame structure.

Project Challenges:

Due to a small footprint on site the use of 3.5ton excavators had to be used as the siting of the crane location could not permit heavier loads for the placement of the preferred machines.

Installation of protection screening, segregating off construction/demolition interface.
Noise and vibration had to be taken into consideration in respect of local restaurants close by.
