About the project:

The works comprised of the demolition of a former large institute for the blind to make way for their new accommodation integrated with residential dwellings: The buildings were set over a 20 acre site mainly 2 & 3 storeys built of brick structure and traditional timber frame. Foundations and hard standings were removed all voids within the ground were backfilled with crushed concrete and tracked in with excavator for compaction. All Hard core materials were crushed on site for the clients later re-use.

Project Challenges:

Challenges for this project was restricted access routes pinching along Network Rail boundary.
We assisted New England with bat removals with success.
Extreme larger than usual foundations were unearthed, the foundations reaching depths of 11 meter in places had no alterations on program, The 14 week program was met on time and within budget.
